TBC continues a tradition of collective action for human welfare, from the Enlightenment humanists to today. Our aim is to use modern knowledge and technology to address humanity's greatest challenges.
What TBC does.
Torchbearer Community (TBC) builds methods for coordinated action on humanity's greatest challenges. Our members have expertise in AI research, activism, law, policy, education, software development, marketing, philosophy, biotech, math, cybersecurity, sustainability, and more.
Our goal is a large group of people focused on concrete solutions to the biggest problems.

If you believe unchecked AI development poses serious risks and want to work from Humanist principles toward a better future, read the documents below and consider whether the commitments are right for you. If they are not, that is a legitimate choice. If they are, we welcome your application.
